Description
Zinc ethyl silicate primer
This product is two-component and based on ethyl silicate resin, which is produced and supplied with zinc (zinc)-enriched pigment powder, due to the creation of a strong chemical bond with the iron metal surface, it is used in high-performance systems.
Product feature
Excellent adhesion to clean metal surface – Excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion factors – Excellent resistance to solvents – Its temperature resistance is up to 421 degrees Celsius. This product is used in epoxy and polyurethane paint systems and in corrosive industrial environments. Due to the formation of zinc salts in the polluted air, it is necessary to use top paint in the system
Uses
This color is used as a very suitable lining for the external surfaces of pipelines and transmission lines, tanks, all metal structures in coastal and offshore areas, as well as on metal structures up to a temperature of 400 oC.
Equipment required for implementation
The following devices can be used to apply this color
- Spray with air :(pressure 3-4 atmospheres) (nozzle opening mm 1.8-4.2)
- Airless spray :(pressure 6-7 atmospheres) (nozzle opening mm 0.48-0.63)
- roller
- brush (for small surfaces)
Surface preparation
The minimum degree of cleanliness of the desired surface is based on the Swedish standard ISO 8501-11/2, SA 2 or 3SA. Also, the minimum surface profile (roughness) is 70 ± 5 microns
How to use
First, mix the varnish and solution separately and slowly add zinc powder to the varnish while stirring according to the mixing percentage mentioned on the label and stir until the channel becomes uniform. After 20 minutes, according to the type of spraying, add thinner to it. and stir it until it is uniform and ready to use. According to the useful life after mixing, you should mix the amount of color that can be consumed in this period of time. Make sure to stir it continuously during spraying to prevent the powder from settling on the surface. Make sure that the thickness of the dry film does not exceed 80 microns due to its cracking mud property. The ambient temperature for coloring should be 10-40 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the surface during painting should be at least 3 degrees Celsius above the dew point and the air humidity should be at least 80%, and the surface should be free of ice and moisture. – After finishing the work, wash all the equipment with a suitable thinner
safety tips
This product is highly flammable and should be kept away from sparks and flames. Due to the harmfulness of continuous inhalation of the vapors of this product, it is necessary to use glasses and masks in closed spaces, as well as ventilation during the painting time. In case of contact with skin and eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult a doctor
